The long-term goal of SEISMIC-V was to contribute to the awareness of LSC, but also to propose recommendations to reinforce existing solutions, and to avoid common errors. Thereby, it would be necessary to collect data, concerning the efforts taken by the population in the past, and to contribute to the restoration and repair of the buildings that sustained damage from the earthquake.<\/p>\n

Regarding the general aims assessment, the project intends:<\/p>\n

  1. To identify local seismic culture and architectural seismic-resistant features, throughout the Portuguese regions exposed to frequent tremors, even with low intensity, and earthquakes with high intensity, but less frequent.<\/li>\n
  2. To identify materials and techniques to repair and restore damaged in-use vernacular buildings, related to local population reactive efforts to earthquake occurrence.<\/li>\n
  3. To identify actions addressed by the local community, on their attempt to prevent from earthquake damage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
