The project focused on the vernacular dwellings located in different sites, across Europe.<\/p>\n
It explored the Architectural Dimension (D1)<\/span> regarding the buildings maintenance<\/strong>, in order to contribute to the awareness and the preservation of the authenticity<\/strong> and integrity principles<\/strong> at those sites.<\/p>\n Moreover, it also contributed to the interpretation of the Local Building Culture Historical Evolution (D2)<\/span> of the dwellings\u2019 sites, which was recreated through 3D visualization<\/strong> and augmented reality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n This became a powerful didactic tool<\/strong> for children, young people and interested citizens, not only to learn and value<\/strong> the relevance of the vernacular buildings that should be preserved, but also to enhance the Immaterial Culture (D3)<\/span> still in-use nowadays, regarding the buildings\u2019 architectural techniques, materials and building systems\u2019 maintenance. A legacy passed down from generation to generation, essential to survive, as part of the European identity.<\/p>\n The project also aimed to attract tourists to these sites, through the use of Mobile Apps<\/strong> on site, which opened the mind to other ways of inhabit, as well as to new audiences.<\/p>\n Furthermore, this gave the opportunity for non-traveller citizens, to visit other dimensions, as 3D modeling<\/strong> of World Heritage Sites in Europe. This digital interactive communication tool is available on a digital platform<\/strong>, created throughout the project, to better assist and disseminate the tangible and intangible knowledge regarding these European sites.<\/p>\n The development of these Innovative Technological Ways<\/strong> of reaching new audiences could become a factor of distinctiveness of European World Heritage Sites.
